When he discovers a mysterious book in the stacks of his campus library he begins to read, entranced by tales of lovelorn prisoners, lost cities, and nameless acolytes. He just wrote an amazing book where he got out of the way of the story and let the thing steamroll over you (aka, me), and it's an alarmingly confident, unfuckwithable book whose characters are stunningly realized and I adore them all deeply.
