Here we have a member of the world’s oldest fraternity, a member of the freemasons that has based his first novel on his own personal experiences and inspirations within the fraternity. Someone who is actually on the inside that has seen the various rituals, knows the meanings, and who knows just what goes on behind those closed doors.

As a past master in the Blue Lodge, the author has masterfully woven a modern day tale of intrigue and adventure based on the ancient legends and the very tenets of the Free Masons and the lessons we learn in the scripture of the Bible as read in the book of Genesis, Job, Kings, the Psalms, Matthew and Luke.

Here we find our protagonist Joseph, battling good and evil as his counterparts conspire to gain the upper hand. Here are the struggles that each member of the craft at one time or another has to ask themselves. Here we find a brotherhood that experiences all the vices and superfluities of life struggling to maintain those tenets and principles that each are taught throughout one’s life both in and out of the lodge.

The author skillfully captures the craft of both operative and speculative masons as he decodes and reveals many of the hidden secrets of the fraternal organization and the allegorical meanings attached to them.

Here we get a member’s real insight of just how powerful the beliefs and morals of freemasonry really are. And how they can change a man’s life. However, we also see that it is up to each individual to choose to use what he has learned, just like it is up to each Christian, Muslim, or Jew to live by and practice those tenets they have learned in their faith. For we have seen far too many times that just because someone is a member does not necessarily mean that they are capable of doing good.
