SHORTFORM LAUNCHES NEW SOCIAL FEATURES FOR VJ CURATED VIDEO CHANNELS

VJs Drive over 100K Visitors to ShortForm.com in the Last 30 Days

January 27, 2011—(SAN FRANCISCO)—ShortForm, the social entertainment video property that delivers continuous channels of the best videos from anywhere on the web curated by a growing community of VJs, announced today the release of new features that will make the site more social and fun for both VJs and Viewers. The features build upon momentum ShortForm has seen over the last month where over 100K organic visitors have come to the property through the promotional efforts of VJs who are curating and sharing their channels with their friends, family, and all ShortForm viewers through the channel guide. ShortForm's community of VJs is curating channels of their favorite videos or channels around specific subjects, and drawing a growing and passionate following.

ShortForm announced today the launch of a Newsfeed that is prominently featured on the watch screen and surfaces real-time activity by Viewers and VJs. As viewers sit back and watch the continuous stream of videos in their subscribed channels, the Newsfeed provides live updates about other channels that are being shared, liked, or created, along with the name of the VJs behind those channels. Viewers can select channels directly from the Newsfeed and subscribe to the ones that capture their interest. The newly subscribed channels will be waiting for them with the latest updates on subsequent visits.

ShortForm also announced the launch of a new Channel Creation Guide on landing that makes it quick and easy for new visitors to become VJs. The simple step-by-step flow enables visitors to collect, mix, and share their own, unique ShortForm channel in just a few minutes. VJs can import their favorite videos from YouTube©, their shared videos on Facebook©, or add videos through URLs, and then mix and arrange them into their own channel.

To make the adding of new videos to channels even easier, ShortForm is also unveiling a new bookmarklet called “ShortForm It!” that will allow VJs to automatically add videos to their channels as they are surfing around the web.

"We had a very successful launch in November, delivering the most social video curation product in the market. We have a loyal base of VJs that have brought in over 100K visitors over the last month. Building on that, we wanted to make the VJ's curation experience easier and the viewing experience even more fun." said Nader Ghaffari, CEO, ShortForm. "Becoming a ShortForm VJ has never been easier."

ShortForm also has a number of other features in development to be announced shortly that will make it easier for viewers to navigate and find channels of interest, and will enable VJs to take their channels to the distributed web.
