Just 24% of the cybersecurity workforce are women, 9% are Black, 8% Asian, and 4% Hispanic. The industry has historically been inhospitable to these groups, plagued by discrepancies in pay, job discrimination, and fewer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shortform.com\/blog\/career-progression-plan\/\">career advancement<\/a> possibilities. Companies want to hire workers who, on day one, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.securitymagazine.com\/articles\/98725-why-the-cybersecurity-talent-gap-exists-and-how-to-solve-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have the hard skills necessary to predict and prevent threats and breaches<\/a>.
