He\u2019s also the founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drglover.com\/tpi-university.html\">TPI (Total Personal Integration) University<\/a>, which offers classes that help both men <em>and<\/em> women <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shortform.com\/blog\/how-to-live-with-intention\/\">live with intention<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to <em>NMMNG<\/em>, Glover has also written <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Dating-Essentials-Men-Only-Guide-ebook\/dp\/B07RJ1JXNB\"><em>Dating Essentials for Men: The Only Dating Guide You Will Ever Need<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hhxwC14PRw8\">Godfather of the Manosphere<\/a>\u201d (or <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manosphere\">pro-male corners of the internet<\/a>) and a regular contributor to many male-centered podcasts and radio shows, Dr. Robert Glover has become somewhat of a cult figure among the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Men%27s_rights_movement\">men\u2019s rights movement<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pickup_artist\">pick-up artists<\/a>. His long-time dedication to men\u2019s empowerment\u2014specifically in reference to men embracing their masculinity <em>and<\/em> developing their \u201cgame\u201d with women\u2014and his insistence that the modern man cares too much about pleasing women has made him popular among these groups. You can connect with Dr. Robert Glover below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.drglover.com\/\">Website<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/drrobertglover\">Facebook<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dr_r_glover\">Twitter<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/RobertGlover\/videos\">YouTube<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>No More Mr. Nice Guy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally published as an e-book in the fall of 2000, <strong><em>No More Mr. Nice Guy<\/em> became a media phenomenon when Dr. Robert Glover caught the attention of conservative talk-shows <em>The O\u2019Reilly Factor <\/em>and <em>The Rush Limbaugh Show<\/em>. <\/strong>The book was then officially published in winter of 2003 by Running Press. Since then, it\u2019s been translated into eight different languages. Today, it\u2019s one of the top-selling \u201cpersonal transformation\u201d e-books on Amazon and has sold hundreds of thousands of copies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fact that Dr. Robert Glover was able to quit his private practice as an LMFT and focus on helping Nice Guys full time (and continues to do so almost two decades later) shows how much of a community has arisen around his program. However, despite Glover\u2019s good intentions and desire to help men become more self-accepting and less bitter\u2014particularly towards women\u2014<strong>the online communities that have formed around male-centric texts like <em>NMMNG<\/em> and <em>Superior Man<\/em> have taken on a life of their own.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most controversial of these communities is arguably \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/TheRedPill\/\">The Red Pill<\/a>.\u201d Deemed so offensive by Reddit that the forum has been quarantined since 2018, this community of men believes women\u2014especially feminists\u2014have stripped all men of their masculine identity. More specifically, the community discusses \u201csexual strategy\u201d and rigid gender roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the fact that Glover actively criticizes Nice Guys who are resentful and furious towards women, many of the men in this community adopted his book as gospel, interpreting it in ways that aligned with their views. For example, when discussing boundaries, Glover says bad behavior from your partner shouldn\u2019t be tolerated or rewarded. He then provides an example: If your puppy kept peeing inside the house, you wouldn\u2019t reward it with a treat for doing so.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the use of a dog metaphor here might not have been the most sensitive, the Red Pill community took it even farther, interpreting this to mean, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/TheRedPill\/comments\/7bpthk\/on_the_subject_of_no_more_mr_nice_guy_part_ii\/\">Training a woman or child is no different than training a dog.<\/a>\u201d Although <em>NMMNG<\/em> is meant to steer men <em>away<\/em> from this kind of thinking, Glover\u2019s hard stance on gender roles\u2014including the implication that women and feminism are partially at fault for the existence of Nice Guys\u2014made room for the Red Pill interpretation of his work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This being said, <em>NMMNG<\/em> seems to have hit peak popularity within the Red Pill community years ago (it has since been replaced by other texts in the forum\u2019s sidebar). More recently, the book is being reclaimed and discussed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/exredpill\/\">ex-Red Pill men<\/a>. Having decided to leave the manosphere, these men seem to discuss <em>NMMNG<\/em> with greater nuance, acknowledging that while the text was helpful in guiding them on their journey to self-acceptance, they disagree with some of Glover\u2019s personal opinions on gender and women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These (somewhat) opposite communities both find value and insight in <em>NMMNG<\/em>, demonstrating the text\u2019s ability to be interpreted in different ways based on who\u2019s reading it.
