A lack of commitment creates a mentality that sees success in sales as optional, and this hinders selling success.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read on to discover the secrets of sales success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Commit to Sales Success<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve committed to the sales profession, you need to commit to sales success with the same fervor. <strong>Think of success as a duty, obsession, and ethical requirement\u2014if you ever see success as something optional or that will \u201cjust happen,\u201d you\u2019ll never reach it. <\/strong>(A lack of commitment to sales success is why few people get the life they dream of and even fewer of them get the life they have the potential to have.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To determine if you\u2019re committed enough to success, ask yourself the following questions (this applies to any field, not just sales). If you answer no to any of them, you need to strengthen your commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Do you think success is a responsibility?<\/li><li>Are you making full use of your abilities?<\/li><li>Are you willing to accept the challenges that success brings, such as more work?<\/li><li>Are you and your family on the same page about creating success?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To commit to sales success when selling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shortform.com\/blog\/accepting-responsibility\/\">Take responsibility<\/a>. <\/strong>Decide that whether or not someone buys is completely dependent on <em>you<\/em>, not them. Cardone doesn\u2019t ever allow his staff to blame lack of sales on the customer\u2019s indecisiveness, cheapness, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Don\u2019t make excuses. <\/strong>Never try to justify your failure. You will inevitably fail sometimes, but instead of abdicating responsibility or telling yourself you didn\u2019t want whatever you failed to get anyway, be honest with yourself and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shortform.com\/blog\/how-to-analyze-a-situation\/\">analyze the situation<\/a>. Don\u2019t let anyone else console you by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shortform.com\/blog\/placing-blame\/\">placing blame<\/a> elsewhere (for example, your coworker might blame lack of business on the economy). If you\u2019re not honest about why you failed, you won\u2019t be able to troubleshoot accurately and you\u2019ll keep making the same mistakes, which will ultimately sabotage your success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll be more likely to make excuses after you\u2019ve had some success but then stalled, so be particularly vigilant in these moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Think of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shortform.com\/blog\/how-to-make-a-sale-2\/\">making the sale<\/a> as your duty. <\/strong>Decide that succeeding in sales is critically important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Take \u201cmassive action.\u201d <\/strong>When you want something, put in at least 10 times more effort than you think you need, and be unreasonable and insane. For example, when Cardone was working on a client, he called him 15 times in 72 hours even though the client never returned his previous calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Take so much action that you create new problems for yourself.<\/strong> For instance, if you\u2019re trying to get appointments, book so many that your schedule is overwhelming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re doing, take a lot of action. This will make up for your inexpertise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll know you\u2019re taking enough action when people start advising you to live in the moment, slow down, relax, and so on. Ignore them<\/strong>\u2014people who give this kind of advice aren\u2019t doing enough <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shortform.com\/blog\/massive-action\/\">massive action<\/a> themselves and have given up on their dreams.
