Managers can benefit from this technique too. <strong>The main threat to an even managerial workload is interruptions<\/strong> because they unexpectedly increase workload. You can manage interruptions by taking inspiration from factory techniques:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Make standard (not custom) products.<\/strong> In this context, \u201cproducts\u201d are answers to questions that interrupt you, which usually come from subordinates or people you influence. Study these questions and prepare widely applicable responses. If your leading indicators warn you that you\u2019ve got a future problem, you have to deal with it before it explodes, but you don\u2019t have to deal with it immediately and let it interrupt you.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Encourage other managers to embrace regularity. <\/strong>Because you work with them, your schedules have to mesh.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For example, a company might reserve Monday mornings for planning group meetings.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Batch subordinate interruptions.<\/strong> Don\u2019t physically hide from your subordinates when you don\u2019t want to be interrupted\u2014their questions are legitimate. Instead, schedule a time when you\u2019re available for questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For example, you might hang a sign on your door that says you\u2019re doing individual work and that you\u2019ll be available at a later time for questions.
