Research suggests that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pon.harvard.edu\/daily\/business-negotiations\/small-talk-big-gains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">engaging in small talk during negotiations<\/a> can help you achieve better results\u2014and, according to Debra Fine (<a href=\"https:\/\/shortform.com\/app\/book\/the-fine-art-of-small-talk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>The Fine Art of Small Talk<\/em><\/a>), planning your small talk in advance can help you keep the talk interesting and avoid not knowing what to say next.
