When you were a kid you may have lived by this 5 second rule: if your snack drops on the floor, but you pick it up before 5 seconds go by, it’s still good to eat. This book applies a different 5 second rule, one that is about human psychology and beating procrastination: If you have an instinct to act on a goal, you must physically act on it within 5 seconds or your brain will squash it.
