ShortForm Invited to Google I/O, in the YouTube Developer Sandbox

Launches Best Google I/O Sandbox Video Contest to Showcase Power of Curated Video Channel

May 2, 2011—(SAN FRANCISCO)— ShortForm, the new entertainment medium delivering continuous channels of the best videos curated by a growing community of VJs, today announced their invitation to be amongst a select group of companies demoing at the 2011 Google I/O Developer Sandbox. Companies demoing in the sandbox are those pioneering the future of web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and open web technologies.

In conjunction with the conference, ShortForm is launching the Best Google I/O Sandbox Video Contest to showcase the power of curated channels. The contest is open to all Sandbox companies demoing at Google I/O. Participating companies simply submit a YouTube video of a product pitch or demo at ShortForm's Google I/O Contest Page.

ShortForm recently unveiled a new entertainment experience at NewTeeVee Live. With an active VJ community curating continuous channels featuring clips from YouTube, Digg, Facebook, and other social sites, ShortForm makes it easy for visitors to lean back and enjoy an endless stream of short video clips – similar to the TV viewing experience. ShortForm's new online experience is currently live at www.shortform.com. The submitted videos will run in a continuous ShortForm channel where viewers can watch all Sandbox videos and vote for their favorites. The winning entry will be announced in a press release and also receive prime placement on ShortForm's homepage for one week, reaching hundreds of thousands of people. The contest runs from May 4 through May 11 at the close of the show, submissions are accepted anytime from Google I/O Sandbox companies.

In addition, the Google I/O Sandbox Channel will be used by Google I/O attendees to preview companies in the Sandbox before the conference. Furthermore, the channel will also provide media members with a summary of all the technology from all Sandbox companies. The Google I/O Sandbox Channel can be embedded on any site with ShortForm's Embeddable Widget , enabling any publisher to bring the best of Google I/O to their visitors.

"We are thrilled to be selected to showcase ShortForm at Google I/O to the world's leading technologists" said Nader Ghaffari, CEO, ShortForm. "We are also excited to infuse a little healthy competition into Google I/O by inviting everyone to vote on their favorite Sandbox pitches and demos."

ShortForm also announced today the release of two new features. First, the company launched a newShortForm landing experience that surfaces Channels and VJs who curated them more prominently to visitors. ShortForm visitors can now find top ranked or featured Channels and VJs upon landing, search for Channels, and quickly create their own channel. Second, ShortForm integrated with Vimeo. This integration broadens the video sources VJs can use in curating their channels beyond YouTube and gives VJs access to unique independent video content for their channels.
